The People of Israel walked through the harsh desert with steps of freedom in search of the Promised Land. The characters change, but the story does not change: the book Exodus, Citizenship and Democracy – the Exodus' journey through contemporary times is a modern allegory: the civic, philosophical and political-social search for the citizen of the Promised Land, citizenship . On this journey, some people are slaves under the yoke of pharaohs, some are already marching through the desert, others are lost, spinning without finding paths, and have any people reached the Promised Land? Aren't there still those people who are about to reach the Promised Land, yet want a leader to return to the slavery of modern pharaohs to enjoy “cucumbers and melons”? Is the dream of achieving full citizenship a reality, or just a mirage?
